"Fix these broken pipes. And learn to roll again"

                                       Tuesday, August 5, 2014

From Louisville, JD arranged an appointment with Jayco KC to have our Skylark's grey water pipe repaired. Its' pipe
had too many encounters with gravel and rocks.
First, consultations with techs, then parts were ordered and we were given a second appointment for Thursday to have the work done. Lacy, our service advisor, understood our timeline and  worked hard to coordinate this process. Fortunately, the dealership is 10 minutes from our  campsite.  It was like the  movie "Groundhog Day" in this repeating loop of hitching and unhitching!

Lacy gave some great suggestions for KC activities. We returned Skylark again to our KOA site, replugged all its' parts, then after lunch,  we prepared for a hiking trip to Burr Oak Woods, recommended by Lacy.

According to local lore, Jesse James hid in these cliffs during the Civil War.

After our hike, we shared the evening with Misha, Deb and their three cats and one dog.                    Sadie, in particular, knew we missed our Treehouse felines. She sat close beside JD and me, and listened attentively to everything we said about her.

The company Deb works for, Livers Bronze, helped with this installation.

We parked our Tacoma at Union Station
Then we walked to The Rieger Hotel. This is the view from our walk over a train bridge.

Inside The Rieger Hotel where we toasted our twentieth anniversary. It was pouring outside, just like before our wedding.

 Rum Cocktail and Missouri Mule

After our toast, we returned to Union Station for our anniversary meal at Pierpont's. No picture to show this occasion ;-(... Perhaps, we will return for another photo op!

  1. Happy 20th anniversary!! What a coincidence that it rained on your anniversary and that it also rained on your wedding day. Hey, it rained on our wedding day, too.
