Whale Watching & Coronado Island

Tuesday, December 30:
From December to April, gray whales migrate from Alaska to the lagoons of Baja California where the females give birth to their calves. The ocean was too rough to see whales, but Jean and Jonathan saw a dolphin and we saw some whale flukes and spray.
We credit some preventative gravol taken an hour before and then a second one @ cruise time for helping to keep our breakfast in our tummies. Many other travellers were not so fortunate.
The afternoon crossing and Wednesday's crossings were all cancelled.

Then we took a ferry to Coronado Island, a fifteen minute ride.

Due to the rain, the outdoors market was sparsely attended by vendors and customers. We walked through the market with fifteen minutes to spare to meet the ferry. Otherwise, the next ferry would be an hour wait.
