Canmore Rustle

Tuesday, October 7, 2014
Mom and I explored the town of Canmore: its' shops, its' green spaces and its' history.
We ate lunch at El Cafecito. I enjoyed a flavourful and hearty pork & bean soup. Mom ordered a delicious salmon panini. The owner is originally from Mexico City. He lived in Montreal for many years, then moved to Canmore to work as a chef in a local hotel. Two and 1/2 years ago, he opened his cafe. When the cafe closes, you can have dinner at his brother's Mexican restaurant, Amore, also in downtown Canmore.

Kathleen and Jonathan hiked Heart Creek Trail, a fifteen minute from our campsite.

Tuesday evening, Kathleen returned Mom to Edmonton for her flight home the next morning. What a treat to have some time with my mom and our friend, Kathleen.

We began our day with a hearty breakfast from Craigs' Way Station, a local restaurant recommended by Kathleen.  Jonathan ordered "The Rustler".   Mine was called the "Early Bird Special", 1/2 the size of Jonathan's!

Then, it was Jonathan's turn to explore the town of Canmore (with some suggestions from me).
We saw a exhibit of Canmore's Floods at the Canmore Civic Centre.  Its' most recent flood was June 20, 2013.
