Kasha-Katu Tent Rocks National Monument

Sunday, February 15, 2015

At the park, we discovered that this weekend was Presidents' Day weekend and that meant free admission for those without park passes.  We parked in the overflow parking lot and shared the trail with hikers most of the way to the mesa.  At the final ascent that is steep, rocky and slippery, a family guided an elderly couple. Each elder had a guide on each side, in front and in back. A young woman waited near a corner of this section, and helped direct traffic around her family.
