You can see the Mission building through the trees.

 About the Chumash people:

Tar in the abalone shell was collected on the beach and used for waterproofing a canoe or "tormol" in the Chumash language.

Large, shallow basin metates and handstones (manos) were used to grind small wild seeds for food.

This grinding stone was used for making acorn flour.

Kundert Medical Building--Frank Lloyd Wright design:

The building was closed so we walked around to the back and looked through the glass. From the patio, see above photo, there is a great view of the creek.

A man in the parking lot waiting for his appointment noticed our interest in this building.  He is from Wisconsin, Wright's home state where Wright designed many buildings.
